A TV Studio in Your Classroom
The purpose behind the experience is to develop children’s confidence in presentation, working as a team and applying National Curriculum Literacy and Computing skills to a real-life situation.
Learning with Real Purpose
The various roles within a news studio are employed as part of this experience. Presenters, Researchers, Producers, and Technicians will work as a team and have a chance to try out different roles as they record news reports throughout the day.
National Curriculum Literacy & Computing
Pupils develop their confidence to present weather forecasts, scripted news items or conduct interviews for magazine elements of the show. This can fit into your current school topics as appropriate. They also learn ‘behind the scenes’ aspects of production including autocue for presentation, video and audio mixing and other computer-based skills for broadcasting.
Would you like to give your students a new, hands-on real life experience?
One that will engage them in using computers and technology to create their own Radio Show?
The Radio Experience is led by a former deputy headteacher having worked for local radio and BBC television. Designed to support Literacy & the Computing Curriculum objectives in a fun, engaging and stimulating way.
Using software appropriate to the ability of your students, opportunities will exist to create and record a radio show using pre-written reports as part of your classroom activities.
We provide the jingles, show themes and music so that students can concentrate on their developing skills in writing, presentation, organisation and use of technology.
(Pupils will need to access school computers for editing and research)
We can work to a specific project or theme as appropriate to your school and record it to go on your website or to play in the school hall for example.
We’ve successfully worked with Primary, Secondary and Special Schools. We will edit and compile the programme after we leave and send the finished show to you once complete.
A modern, contemporary, upbeat and moving pop concert with a theme of reflection on what life is all about. You won’t have heard songs like this before and you will be surprised at the impact it will have on all who perform it and all who attend your concert. Themes include doing your best, grabbing opportunities, perseverance, considering others not as well off as we are, making time for people in our lives and saying ‘thank you’ to those who help to influence our lives.
Songs are sent to you as soon as you book the experience to practice in classes and/or assemblies. We then come to your school for 4 days to teach and improve performances. We then record children’s performances on professional multi track studio equipment. (You decide how you want to timetable your classes so that they remain on a fairly balanced curriculum)
We then return with PA and lights to school for the performance where CDs will be available.
